Oh, my little Elias and his funny way of thinking and speaking. I know all little kids have certain things that they mispronounce and parents go off on how adorable it is. (My niece would say "tama-yo" for tomorrow and Brandon and I would just love to hear her until one day it was gone.) So, I am trying to treasure those words that you just love to hear... but Elias not only is mis-pronouncing something very near and dear to our family, he has associated it with the wrong word and is all together wrong.
Since he was born he has been drowning in Yankees paraphernalia, including blankets, beanies, shirts, shorts, and we can't get enough of it. But recently, as he is speaking more and more, he has been pointing to his Yankees gear and making monkey noises.. you know "o-o-o-o-e-e-e-e" and flailing his arms about as that animal may do. That's right folks, he thinks the Yankees are monkeys. At first I couldn't figure out why he made this awkward association (since there is not a picture of any monkey figure on any of his gear), but then it came to me that Yankees sounds similar to Monkeys. Oh, my boy, Brandon is so proud!

How cute it that! I'll think of monkeys now every time I see something Yankee. I think that is by far my favorite part about toddlers...how they pronounce things. And it is such a sad, sad day when all of sudden its said right. I never corrected my kids, and I still don't when they get something wrong. It's just so dang cute. Like JJ calling it "Timpanosis" instead of Timpinogas. Then he read the sign when we got there and it was over. Hehehe.... You guys did love to hear her say that. That was so long ago...:( You'll just die when you see her first day of school outfit! She's so big, I can hardly believe she even said that.
That is so funny best friend. Scott thinks the New York Monkeys sound good...Ha Ha. Jordyn always would say she wanted a burger cheese and remember McDaddy. Tyler still says things wrong like "foot it" instead of put it and He just told me he doesnt like the "oak" in the eggs... and my favorite he hates Hettie Potter (harry potter). Miss you guys.
