A new year

Welcome 2012.  Now that our schedules are back on schedule, I feel a bit of normalcy and a lot of excitement for 2012.  We (the family and I ) have big plans for this year.  Brandon is going back to school for a second masters and I am also returning to school to get a nursing degree.  I am so excited.  It will be a slow process since Brandon and I still have the kids needs as our number one priority.  This means that I will study and take classes only when they are in school or Brandon can be home with them (which is hard to juggle between him working and going to school at night).  We have decided together that these goals are important to us, and I am sure we will see them through!
The kids are also picking back up swimming twice a week and Emma will continue ballet.  Elias continues to go to pre- kindergarten three days a week and enjoys a library class and speech every week.  The new year brings fresh ideas and new beginning to our family.   Emma and I have been crafting away together and can't wait to continue more crafts each month.  Elias and Brandon continue to "practice" baseball in the back yard weekly to master Elias' skills.  He loves his dad so much and watching them throwing the ball to each other is priceless.
I look forward to an excited and busy 2012!!!  Bring it on!!!

Almost back to school

Okay, so I have to admit I like the idea of the kids going back to school, but even more than that, I get so into the supplies needed for school.
It's the only time you can find crayola crayons in a 25 pack for 25 cents.  That's a Penny a crayon folks, it's like heaven to me.  I stock up.  I love a sharp crayon and recently I found I am not alone.  I love paper, glue, scissors, tape, white out, erasers, and anything else school supply-ish.  But in speaking with other moms and especially teachers, I am so not in this alone.
I also enjoy the back to school clothes shopping and the smell of new shoes and such, but nothing compares to the supplies!
Emma starts full day first grade this year, and I am nervous for her.  I know in my heart that she will be fine, but will I?  Elias is going to afternoon pre-k(twice a week), and I know I will miss his afternoon cuddles.  My kids still have a week and a half off, I am savoring every minute with them watching movies, riding bikes, swimming, playing outside, coloring, puzzling, and so on.....BUT... I am sure I will find that 2.5 hours of free time a couple of days a week heavenly!!!
