Future surfer in the making

Since we moved here to Hawaii in January, I would say the activity we do most as a family, is go to the beach. Well, at least we are all at the beach. Brandon spends as much time as he can out surfing the waves, while the kids and I enjoy the sun and sand. The kids are also spending more and more time in the water. Since Emma had her swim lessons, she is not nearly as scared of the water and may even be seen enjoying herself as she blows bubbles under water. Elias is fearless. He doesn't complain when I put him under water and will take off full crawl headed for the surf and keep going until he is under if I don't watch closely. His favorite time is when he is sitting in a float (which he often falls asleep in), or watching for daddy to paddle back in and give him a turn on the board.
I am busy with running Emma to preschool ,gymnastics, and swimming, and have been finding myself more and more squeezing in time to read. I am loving that, and have got some really great books in since we moved here.
Brandon is at work here and there. What a different life it is from being attached to a submarine. He is still working for the headquarters for all the Pacific Based Submarines, but I find he is home more than he is not which is so oppoisite from life in Washington. We find plenty of time to hit the beach, see the tourist spots, hike, and just play outside.
Needless to say, you can tell we are loving life here on the Island, but I am also missing all my frineds and family back at all my various homes. Aloha!
