Embrace California

Since moving from Hawaii, I would be lying to say I am well adjusted to California living. I'm not. Don't get me wrong... produce that lasts more than a couple days, gallons of milk for under 6 dollars, and drivers who get where they need to - fast, are all very nice... BUT...

I miss the tropical weather, the sunny days- every day, and the beach desperately. Not to mention all my friends there. I suppose I am just adjusting to another move, but this time is different. It's permanent, this scares me and delights me all at once. I love that we can settle here and become part of the neighborhood, the community, without in the back of my mind thinking, we are only here for 2-3 years. But on the other hand, it's hard to become a part of a community and neighborhood knowing you will be around longer than 2-3 years!!! Go figure.

I am patiently awaiting summer to arrive, while spring is nice, I want to be hot again!!!! I mean, really hot. And as soon as that arrives, you will read a new blog saying I am sick of the heat!

All and all, we are now California residents with California drivers licences, licence plates, and phone numbers. Ode to California!!!

I sure hope you aren't disappointed with a San Fransisco summer. I once heard someone say "The coldest winter I spent was a summer in San Fransisco"...not sure if its true...but something to think about ;) since you guys are all a bunch of beach bums... :)glad to hear you are adjusting.

Yes, I ve heard that about SF summers. We live further inland, so we don't get the coldness off the ocean, thank goodness.
It can't get too hot, we don't have central air!!! I am just hoping for upper 70s and low 80s.
Nothing more!

We loved SF in the summer, but we were only there for a couple of days. I will have to make a trek your way!

We are moving to DC and are in contract as of this morning for a house. Please come and stay with us. We will be there for four years, which I keep telling people is FOURever! I know what you mean about being in a place for so long!

Miss you!
